The 2020 Ram 1500 is a highly versatile vehicle, but if you want it to be equipped for your needs, you’re going to want to find the trim that suits you. That’s why Wilsonville CDJR has compiled this trim level guide for Wilsonville, Woodburn, and Portland, OR, drivers.
To learn all about the features that come with each trim of the Ram 1500, keep on reading our guide!
Before we jump into our trim level exploration, let’s quickly look at cab configurations. The Ram 1500 gives you two cabin options: Crew Cab and Quad Cab.
Both can seat up to six passengers, but the Crew Cab overall has more rear-seat room. It gives those in the back seat 45.2 inches of legroom compared to 35.6 inches of legroom in the Quad Cab.
Check out our table below to learn more about what trim levels offer each cab style:
|Quad Cab||Crew Cab|
|Big Horn/Lone Star||Available||Available|
For the Ram 1500 pickup, the standard trim level is called the Tradesman and it gets to the heart of what this Dodge Ram pickup is really all about.
Inside the cabin, you’ll have everything you need to stay up-to-date and keep yourself entertained during the long haul, including the Uconnect® 3 infotainment system with a 5-inch display. This comes standard with Bluetooth® wireless connectivity so that you can make hands-free phone calls to the command center while you drive.
When you’re parking, the ParkView® Rear Back-Up Camera can give you a clear view of the area behind your truck by turning your infotainment display into a live video feed. This way, you can carefully parallel park or back into a parking space with even less guesswork.
The ParkView® Rear Back-Up Camera can also help you align your hitch with your trailer while the trailer-tow wiring with 4- and 7-pin connector gives you the right tools for towing a ton.
Next, we have the Big Horn and Lone Star trims. These come with everything from the Tradesman, but they make some updates to the interior. For example, the front bench seat replaces its vinyl appointments with cloth ones. It also comes with a leather-wrapped steering wheel and three USB ports that let riders plug in their smartphones or MP3 players to play music through the truck’s speakers.
On the outside, you’ll proudly wear Big Horn or Lone Star badging and 18-inch aluminum wheels. These help you tackle tough terrain, as does the Electronic shift-on-demand transfer case that you get on all 4×4 models.
With the Rebel trim level, your Ram 1500 gets plenty of attitude. That’s clear just by looking at the Black-surround unique grill and the unique Black wheel flares on the exterior. Inside, you’ve got unique Black interior trim with Red accents.
The bench seat in the front is replaced by two bucket seats in either cloth or vinyl with a tire-tread pattern. We see some added comfort features with this trim, too, with the addition of a 12-way power driver’s seat with 4-way lumbar support.
As for capability, towing abilities increase even more with the addition of a Class IV hitch receiver and tow hooks.
You’ll feel like you’re riding in first class when you climb inside the cabin of the Laramie trim level. This configuration dresses your Ram 1500 in leather-trimmed front seats that are both heated and ventilated.
This one also improves on the infotainment system with the Uconnect® 4 system. It replaces your 5-inch display with an 8.4-inch touchscreen. You can use this screen to access some of your favorite smartphone apps on-the-go via Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™.
If you need to get the truck warmed up on a cold winter morning while you prepare to hit the road, go ahead and use the Remote Start System. This will get the heat flowing and wake up your engine.
The Laramie Longhorn is the first Ram 1500 trim that’s only available with the Crew Cab. This is the one that gives rear-seat passengers more legroom. The interior also features Laramie Longhorn specific premium leather trim and a classy wood interior treatment. With heated front and rear seats and ventilated front seats, this trim level is all-weather-ready.
If you need a little help getting where you’re going, you can plug your destination into the Uconnect® 4C NAV system and get turn-by-turn directions on your 8.4-inch touchscreen.
On the outside, you’ll be proudly displaying your trim with the Laramie Longhorn Badge while the 20-inch aluminum wheels give you extra lift. This trim level also includes a power-release tailgate that opens up the tailgate with the simple press of a button on the key fob.
Parking becomes even easier with the Laramie Longhorn, too, thanks to the ParkSense® Front and Rear Park Assist system with Rear ParkSense® Stop.
Finally, we’ve got the Ram 1500 Limited. This trim level comes with everything from all the other trims, plus several more upgrades. The interior, for example, is decorated in Limited-specific premium leather trim and wood interior treatment. The front bucket seats are appointed in premium leather and the steering wheel is wrapped in leather and wood.
It comes standard with the Uconnect® 4C NAV system, and it grows your touchscreen to a 12-inch display. Meanwhile, a wireless charging pad helps to keep your devices energized.
To help you stay safe on the road, the Limited trim level equips you with a Blind Spot Monitoring system with Rear Cross-Path and Trailer Detection. This helps you know when it’s safe to change lanes by alerting you to vehicles in your side blind spot. That includes the length of your trailer.
You’ll also be sporting a Limited badge on the exterior and 20-inch cast-aluminum wheels with premium painted inserts.
Every driver needs a little something different from their vehicle, and that’s why there are so many trim levels available for the Ram 1500. If you’re looking for the trim that’s right for you in the Wilsonville, Woodburn, and Portland, OR, areas, you can count on Wilsonville CDJR to help you find just what you need.
