But it’s also surprisingly practical as a daily driver, making it a standout compared to other pony cars. If you’re looking for something new to drive in Portland, Vancouver, or Beaverton and want something that is both fun and functional, consider the latest Challenger. Explore what’s in store below, then check it out in person at Findlay Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram in Wilsonville, OR.

Starting at $26,995

19/30L/100 km (city/highway)*
305horsepower, 3.6L V6 Engine

You don’t have to break the bank to buy a car you’re truly proud to call your own.

  • 2016 Dodge Challenger SXT: MSRP starting at $26,995
  • 2016 Dodge Challenger R/T: MSRP starting at $31,995
  • 2016 Dodge Challenger SRT: MSRP starting at $49,195

The 2016 Dodge Challenger blends pure muscle with advanced powertrain technologies to deliver a truly hair-raising driving experience. Four distinct engine options are available.

  • 3.6L V6: Standard on the SXT trim, this engine puts out 305 hp and 268 lb-ft of torque while getting 19 mpg city and 30 mpg highway. It reaches 60 mph in 6.9 seconds and comes paired with an eight-speed automatic.
  • 5.7L V8: R/T Challenger models have power ratings of 375 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque and fuel-efficiency ratings as high as 16 mpg city and 25 mpg highway. Sprinting speeds improve to 5.8 seconds to hit 60 mph, and a six-speed manual comes standard, with the eight-speed automatic as an option.
  • 6.4L V8: The R/T Scat Pack trim is great off the line thanks to 485 hp and 475 lb-ft of torque. Fuel efficiency is almost identical to the standard R/T, but speeds drop into the mid four-second range to reach 60 mph. The same manual and automatic transmission are available.
  • Supercharged 6.2L V8: The beast of an engine under the hood of the SRT Hellcat delivers 707 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque, besting all comparable muscle cars currently on the road. Manual and automatic transmissions are available, and rocketing to 60 mph takes just over four seconds. Fuel efficiency is rated at 13 mg city and 22 mpg highway.

The engine of the 2016 Dodge Challenger is not the only part of the car that takes advantage of advanced technologies. For example, the distinctive glow surrounding the LED “Halo” running lights improves the visibility of the car while contributing to its one-of-a-kind look. An easy-to-read and easy-to-use 8.5-inch touchscreen interface in the center console promises instant access to all the cabin’s best tech. It can be controlled with a fingertip, or with simple voice commands. You can also access your favorite apps though the infotainment system to expand your choices for music, navigation, and on-the-go information.

Fill the cabin with rich, full sound thanks to the advanced acoustics in the 18-speaker Harmon Kardon sound system, and avoid common hazards thanks to a rearview camera, blind-spot and rear-cross-traffic alerts, and a forward collision warning system.

The driver is not the only one enjoying the inside of the 2016 Dodge Challenger. Thanks to an expansive cabin, there is plenty of room to accommodate everyone and everything. Five adults can ride comfortably thanks to 110.1 cubic feet in the cabin and an especially large backseat. Additionally, the 16.2 cubic feet in the trunk is on par with many full-sized sedans. That figure grows even larger when you fold down the 60/40-split rear seat.

Car critics are hard to impress, but they have been absolutely giddy about the latest, greatest Dodge Challenger.

  • Edmunds: “Interior space is where it utterly puts to shame its Ford and Chevy rivals. The backseat is remarkably roomy for two adults, with good headroom and decent legroom. By comparison, the Mustang and Camaro are really for small children only
  • Kelly Blue Book: “There has never been a muscle car like this.”
  • The Car Connection: “Big and heavy, the 2016 Dodge Challenger offers touring comfort you won’t find in the other muscle coupes. A variety of models lets owners choose a comfortable daily driver, a dragstrip menace, and everything in between.”
